Birthday: May 8

Spouse: Tammy Rowland

When Were You Saved: I was saved in July of 1977, at a Saturday night singing in McMinnville, TN. My uncle, Ron Martin, was singing with the Dumplin Valley Boys during the service.

Favorite Singer/Group: Ron Martin (Lead), Kyla Rowland (Alto) and Aquilla Martin (Soprano); The old group, “The Rowlands”, is my all-time favorite group.

Favorite Song: He Will Roll You Over The Tide

Favorite Scripture: Romans 8:28

Favorite Preacher(s): Many, but Joe Arthur, Tom Gilliam and Billy Graham are among my favorites.

Who Has Been Your Greatest Influence: My mother, Kyla Rowland, my grandmother Eulalia and my uncle, Ron Martin. Their spiritual walk, testimony, prayer life and love for Jesus, greatly influenced me as a child and young adult. Actually, they still are!

Favorite Food: Very hard choice… I love to eat!

Favorite Restaurant: By far I would rather eat at my Mother’s house than anywhere, but Outback will do in a rush.

Hobbies: Bass fishing, golf and bird hunting

What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up: I always wanted to be a professional basketball player or a police officer. God had another plan!

Favorite Automobile: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport… I had one when I was 19.

Favorite Vacation Spot: My recliner… lol! Anywhere that’s 70 degrees or cooler.

Favorite Quote: “If you can’t hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch!”

Unknown Talents: I am a master on the grill, and can vacuum a swimming pool with the best of them.

Pet Peeve: People who chew food or gum with their mouth open.

Sport/Team/Player: Golf… “The Golden Bear”, Jack Nicklaus.

Do You Have Any Pets? Two… a Rat Terrier and a Toy Fox Terrier.

Favorite Color: Blue

Most Embarrassing Moment On Stage: This just happened recently. I hit the play button on our Instant Replay machine to start a soundtrack. However, the song I expected to hear, didn’t play. So, I hit it again thinking I’d touched the wrong button. Come to find out, I had accidentally recorded another song over it. The stage is not a good place to find this out!
